Commissioned by a dear friend, this was on of the most challenging and rewarding paintings I have made. The challenge was not just any acrylic painting, but a shiny acrylic painting. The canvas was a special metallic canvas. Every paint had a form of mica mixed into it. The reward? When the sun touches this painting it dances in the light. All four seasons show their true beauty. The sunflowers shine bright.

Sometimes as we are walking along the road of life there are obstacles in our way. Ones that feel impossible to go around. We focus and fret on how to get around it, but we need to take a moment and look at that obstacle for what it truly is, a thing of beauty. Something to learn and grow with. And along that path there will always be encouragement from the sunflowers in our lives.
